Once again Crash is going to rescue the world from certain death. Doctor Neo Cortex, his longtime enemy, has invented a new way to gain ultimate power and take over the planet. He coped with the evil spirit, Uka Uka, who can help him in implementing his treacherous plan. But first the creature should be released and for that the professor needs to pick up a scattering of crystals stored in various parts of Earth. Crash and his sister Coco must beat him to the punch. Just like in previous games, you will enter different locations from a teleportation hub. Each level contains a crystal you need to collect jumping over obstacles and fighting legions of enemies of different strength. Crash has several types of attacks. You can defeat an enemy by jumping on them, and if it doesn’t work, try spinning into the opponent to knock them out of your way. Besides, you can slide over certain patches of land and break boxes containing useful items. Some of them are health-restoring fruits, others are nitro bombs that will explode just after you land on the box. Extra lives can also be gained during the gameplay as Crash will lose a life each time he is hit or lands in an impassable area.
Aside from crystals, the levels are also filled with colorful gems giving you pleasant bonuses. Moreover, you can replay the levels to gain Relics.
