HP OfficeJet 4620: I have downloaded the files from these two links. The first tells me, 'extraction failed unable to open output file' and the other tells me to 'verify my temp file'. I am growing quite frustrated; why does my printer not just load automatically when I connecdt it to the computer?!

Once you complete the steps, you can proceed to delete the driver from your computer. Alternatively, if the device is using Windows 8.1 or Windows 7, you can uninstall the printer from Control Panel Hardware and Sound Devices and Printers, right-clicking the printer and selecting the Remove device option. If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm communication and to make sure the correct driver is used.Click the name of your printer, then click the minus sign to delete the printer. Once the printer is removed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, then continue to the next step. Click HP, Hewlett-Packard, or Hewlett Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane. If your printer is in the list, select it, click Next, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver. Remove the printer from the system in Control Panel or Settings. Open Print Management. Navigate to Print Servers- (local)- Drivers; Right click on the printer driver that you want to delete, and select Remove Driver Package. DO NOT click on “Delete” yet.

Note:To determine whether your printer is a PostScript printer, look at the printer's documentation. Alternatively, open your system preferences, find the Printers and Faxes control panel (Windows) or Print & Fax in System Preferences (Mac OS), and look at the driver properties. If the printer is a PostScript printer, usually the model name includes the letters 'PS.'

Delete

If you try to print a document or PDF without assigning a default printer, then the system is likely to display an error.

Re-create the instance of the printer in Mac OS.

  1. Choose a connection method from the Protocol menu.
  2. Select a printer, or enter the printer's IP address.
  3. Choose your printer model from the Printer Model menu, and then click Add.

To obtain a PPD file for your device, go to the printer manufacturer's website to download the latest version of the driver for your printer. Or, visit one of the following pages PostScript printer drivers for Windows (Windows), or PostScript printer drivers for Mac OS (Mac OS).

Adobe Technical Support cannot provide detailed information about the location of each property. Contact the printer manufacturer or see the printer documentation for more information.

Ensure that the printer has enough memory to print all page elements. To print at 300 dpi, the printer needs at least 2 MB of available RAM. To print at 600 dpi, the printer needs at least 4 - 6 MB of RAM. For instructions on determining available printer memory, see the printer documentation.
